2014 Asian Games

The 2014 Asian Games, officially known as the XVII Asiad, is a multi-sport event celebrated in Incheon, South Korea from September 19 – October 4, 2014, with 439 events in 36 sports and disciplines set to feature in the Games.

Incheon was awarded the right on April 17, 2007, defeating Delhi, India to host the Games. Incheon is the third city in South Korea after Seoul (1986) and Busan (2002) to host the Asian Games.

काठमाडौं, आश्विन ९ - दुर्गाभवानीको प्रतिकको रुपमा बिहीबार घर/घरमा घटस्थापना गरी मुलुकभर हिन्दूहरुको महानचाड बडादशैं शुभारम्भ हुँदैछ । यसपाली घटस्थापनाको शुभसाईत विहीवार विहान १०.४५ भएको नेपाल पञ्चाङ्ग निर्णायक समितिले जनाएको छ ।

दशैंको पहिलो दिन आश्विन शुक्ल प्रतिपदामा वैदिकहरुले नजिकको तीर्थबाट ल्याएको माटोमा वैदिक विधिपूर्वक पञ्चधातु (सुन, चाँदी, पित्तल, फलाम र तामा) एवं पञ्चपल्लव (पीपल, वर, आँप, डुम्री र पाँकुरीको पात) राखी जौ र मकै छरेर घटस्थापना गरिन्छ । तान्त्रिक मतालम्वीहरुले भने पञ्चमकारसहित तान्त्रिकविधिले ठूलो माटोको भेगुतमा तीर्थबाट ल्याइएको बालुवा वा पाँगो माटोमा जौ र मकै छरेर जमरा राखी घटस्थापना गरिन्छ ।

यसै दिनदेखि नवमीसम्म प्रत्येक दिन विहान सबेरै एक/एक तीर्थमा गई स्नान गर्नुका साथै एक/ एक शक्ति पीठमा पूजा आराधना गरी नजिकको शिवलिङ्गमा अर्घ दिने गरिन्छ । विजया दशमीको दिन गुह्येश्वरी माईको पूजा अर्चना गरी नवरात्रि मेला समापन गर्दछन् । नौ दिनसम्म सञ्चालन हुने भएकाले यस मेलालाई नवरात्रि मेला भन्ने गरिन्छ ।

पञ्चाङ्ग निर्णायक समितिले यसपाली महानवमी र विजयादशमी एकै दिन असोज १७ गते शुक्रवार नै परेकोले महानवमीको कार्य समाप्त गरेपछि मात्र विजयादशमीको कार्य प्रारम्भ गर्नु पर्ने भनेका छन् । समितिले विजयादशमी देवी विसर्जन विहान ९.५५ र टीका विहान १०१५ बजे हुने पनि जनाइएको छ ।

असोज ९ गते घटस्थापनादेखि असोज २१ गते कोजाग्रत पूणिर्मासम्म सर्वोच्च अदालत सार्वजनिक विदामा बन्द रहने हुंदा यस अवधिमा बन्दीप्रत्यक्षीकरण रिट सुनुवाईको प्रयोजनको लागि धटस्थापना , विजयादशमी र शनिवारका दिनबाहेक अरु दिन विहान ११ बजेदेखि अपराह्न ३ बजेसम्म अदालत (इजलास) खुल्ला राख्ने सर्वोच्च अदालत प्रशासनले ब्यवस्था गरेको छ ।

PM Koirala meets US Prez Obama, Rajapaksa

NEW YORK, SEP 24 - Prime Minister Sushil Koirala met with US President Barack Obama during a reception programme organised by the latter at New York on Tuesday night.

Koirala, who is in the US to participate in the 69th session of the United Nations General Assembly, informed US President Obama about the ongoing constitution drafting process in Nepal. According to Nepal’s Permanent Mission in New York , Koirala also invited Obama for Nepal visit.

The reception was hosted by Obama and First Lady Michelle Obamain honour of the head of states participating in the assembly.

Prime Minister Sushil Koirala held meeting with Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa on the margins of the 66th United Nations General Assembly in New York on Tuesday. The two leaders exchanged views on bilateral, regional and international issues of mutual interests, said a statement issued by Nepal's Permanent Mission to UN in New York .

Development of Lumbini, improving connectivity between Nepal and Sri Lanka, and issues concerning the forthcoming Saarc summit were also discussed.

Invites Obama for Nepal visit

PM Koirala has invited President of the United States of America Barack Obama for a visit to Nepal.

Koirala extended the invitation during a meeting with President Obama on the sidelines of the 69th UN General Assembly in New York today, according to the PM's press coordinator Prakash Adhikari.

In extending the invitation, Prime Minister Koirala said that the Nepal visit by President Obama at a time when the country was drafting a democratic constitution through the CA after the peaceful resolution of the decade-long conflict would contribute to the constitution making process and the institutional development of democracy in the country.
